Valerie Bertinelli's first husband was musician Eddie Van Halen. During their marriage from 1981 until their divorce in 2007, the couple had one child together – son Wolfgang Van Halen, now 30.

Sadly, Eddie passed away at age 65 in October 2020 after battling lung cancer. Bertinelli, 61, luckily found love again when she was introduced to Tom Vitale by her brother Patrick.

The pair tied the knot on January 1, 2011, after dating for several years. Shortly after the wedding, the Food Network star confessed during an interview on "The View" that she had gotten tired of not being married.

She said she couldn't handle calling Vitale "my spousal equivalent." The television personality confessed that she enjoyed being able to call him her husband and that it felt appropriate to her.

Now, after 10 years together, it seems Bertinelli might be done calling Vitale her husband. People magazine recently obtained court records revealing the star filed for legal separation from her husband.

The filing was done on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at a Los Angeles Superior Court. The publication claimed that the television personality cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the separation.

The court documents also revealed that Vitale and Bertinelli had a premarital agreement that they would adhere to.

One of the people that was invited and attended the wedding was [Valerie] Bertinelli’s ex-husband, Eddie [Van Halen].

If the pair end up divorcing, they won't have to worry about figuring out who would take the children as they had none. According to TMZ, Bertinelli also asked the court for neither one of them to get spousal support.

Vitale is an entrepreneur, a financial planner, internet personality, and TV producer. He is also the CEO of an E-commerce company, Veebow, which he launched in 2011.

The company focuses on "making business processes easy for both retail merchants and franchises." Bertinelli's husband has also worked as a producer and co-producer in several films.

The businessman initially proposed to the actress while in Italy in March 2010. Their New Year's Day nuptials were held at their home in Malibu, with a hundred guests present to celebrate with them.

One of those invited who attended the wedding was Bertinelli's ex-husband, Eddie. Even after their divorce, the exes remained friends, and the chef even attended his marriage to his second wife, Janie Liszewski.
