Available bachelorettes, you can stop holding your breath because Ty Pennington is officially off the market! The television personality finally tied the knot at his new home!
On Sunday, November 28, 2021, Ty Pennington, 56, took to his Instagram account to announce that he'd gotten married to his fiancée Kellee Merrell, 33. The pair had an intimate ceremony in Savannah, Georgia.
The wedding, held on Saturday, was only attended by eight guests. The famous carpenter and the social media manager tied the knot at their 19th century home that they're renovating together.

In his Instagram post, Pennington shared an image of him and the Vancouver native smiling as they leaned against a white convertible.

Pennington first met Merrell in 2010 while filming a TV show in Toronto. The pair then stayed in touch over the years through mutual friends. They eventually reconnected physically in the early months of 2020.
Clearly, the duo had a deep connection because they decided to quarantine against the COVID-19 pandemic together. It seems their love blossomed during that time, helping their relationship grow.
Strange enough, Pennington confessed to Entertainment Tonight that he almost never married Merrell. He revealed that he was once offered a spot on the reality series "The Bachelor."
The offer came after he'd concluded his time on "Trading Spaces." He explained that he received a call from a Los Angeles producer who told him he would be required to live in a house with 20 women.
Pennington would've "dated" the women to find the person he wanted to marry. The "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" host said if he'd taken the offer, his life would've been on a different trajectory.
The star proposed to Merrell in July 2021, with his representative confessing to People that the engagement was done over morning coffee. It happened on the dock of his Palm Coast, Florida home.
The host announced his engagement on Instagram with a photo of Merrell's hand resting over his. Her large bluish/purplish-colored teardrop-shaped diamond ring was on full display.
After the engagement, Pennington told People that he'd admired his fiancée for years from afar. The HGTV star described her as beautiful inside and out and was happy he'd waited for the right person.
