Tom Hanks Became a Dad at 21 - He Once Admitted His Kids with 2 Wives Had Different Lives
Tom Hanks is best known for his dramatic and comedic roles in films and television. Along with his timeless career, he is also a proud father of four children, who he shares with his past and current wives. Meet the actor's children.
Tom Hanks has captivated the world with his outstanding acting chops. While he had no experience acting, the "News of the World" actor quickly learned it after participating in a community theater production.
Hanks was married to late actress Samantha Lewes in the early days of his acting career. The "Forrest Gump" actor and Lewes tied the knot in January 1978.

MEETING WILSON AFTER LEWES
However, Hanks and Lewes separated in March 1987, after nine years of marriage. The "Apollo 13" actor wed actress Rita Wilson in the following year. Hanks said of his second wife:
"I view my wife as my lover, and we have a bond that goes beyond words like wife or girlfriend or mother."
Like her husband, Wilson is also an incredible actress. She previously starred in several movies such as the 1993 "Sleepless in Seattle," the 1998 "Jingle All the Way, and the 2009 TV series "The Good Wife."

Wilson is not only a marvelous actress on screen but also a remarkable singer. She released her latest album in 2019 called "Halfway to Home," which features her hit tracks "Throw Me a Party" and "Grateful."
Hanks, who met Wilson on the "Bosom Buddies" sitcom set, said his connection with his wife is "concrete."
The actress's impressive accomplishments in her career seem to be one of the reasons why Hanks has been head over heels with her. The "Band of Brothers" actor stayed in love with his wife for 33 years.
SECRETS BEHIND THEIR MARRIAGE
Hanks, who met Wilson on the "Bosom Buddies" sitcom set, said his connection with his wife is "concrete." He noted that the success of their relationship is a matter of timing.
He added that maturity is also essential in their long marriage. He admitted that their union had already broken up early on and that he was too young to handle the commitment.
The "Castaway" actor said he was also not ready to handle the responsibilities of being a young father. Hanks and Lewes share two children, who were still toddlers during their divorce.
The divorce seemed to be reminiscent of Hanks's parents, who separated when he was five years old. It caused him to have a confusing childhood, but he understood their situation.
Hanks never felt angry at his parent's broken relationship. He explained that even if they racked up themselves with self-loathing and guilt, his parents could not handle their situation.
Recently, Hanks opened up about becoming a father at 21 and how he raised his children differently, mainly because of his varying levels of success.
As a father of four for over 40 years, the veteran actor admitted that there is no magic formula for being the perfect parent. What remains constant is his commitment to his children.
HANKS'S FOUR CHILDREN
Hanks is determined to keep his connections with his four children intact despite his shortcomings as a father. The "Saving Private Ryan" actor and Lewes share a daughter, Elizabeth, 39, and son, Colin, 44.
He shares two sons with Wilson - Chet, 31, and Truman, 25. All of Hanks' children have followed in his footsteps in Hollywood and lived separately.
Colin, who shares a striking resemblance with his dad, appeared in "King Kong" and "Orange County." Despite building a lengthy resume of his own, Colin has rarely worked with his dad.
Hanks and his look-alike son starred in the 2006 comedy "The Great Buck Howard" as father and son. Colin has focused on other projects without his famous father since then.
Hanks' only daughter, Elizabeth, works as a writer after a brief acting experience. She starred in her father's movies "Forrest Gump" and "That Thing You Do."
She has a children's book underway, titled "Piper Peregrine Vs. The Consortium For Better Thinking." She previously worked in news publications, including Vanity Fair, The Guardian, and The New York Times.
Meanwhile, Chet seems to have inherited his mother's interest in music. He has launched a musical career in the industry in April 2021, with his debut single "White Boy Summer."
Chet is quite controversial as well. He recently exposed himself as an anti-vaxxer, despite his parents being the first celebrity pair to test positive and recover from the COVID-19 virus.
In addition to avoiding the vaccine, Chet was involved in a lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend, Kiana Parker, for alleged assault, battery, and inflicting emotional distress on her.
Hanks's youngest son, Truman, has been in the industry for quite some time, but he has worked his way behind the camera. Truman also shares a resemblance with his father.
Truman studied film at Stanford University and worked in the camera and electrical departments on many major motion pictures. His previous works include "Wrath of Man" and "Black Widow."
He also worked as a production assistant in the movies "Charlie's Angels" and the "The Cloverfield Paradox." He was a cinematographer for a short film called "The Ice Queen Society."
A PROUD GRANDFATHER
Hanks being a proud father to his accomplished children did not stop there. The acclaimed actor is also a proud grandfather to his three adorable granddaughters Olivia, Charlotte, and Michaiah.
Olivia, 10, and Charlotte, 8, are Colin's daughters with his wife, Samantha. Meanwhile, Michaiah, 5, is Chet's daughter with his former girlfriend, Tiffany Miles.
Colin said his daughters were unaware of their grandfather's fame. Colin said that the little girls aren't interested in how cool Hanks is in Hollywood.
The couple admitted that their granddaughters seemed unenthusiastic to see them. However, Hanks said their grandkids are their source of entertainment for them.
