Man Abandons Wife with Newborn Triplets, Few Years Later They Accidentally Meet Again – Story of the Day
A man didn't want the responsibility of raising triplets, so he abandoned his wife and kids right after going home from the hospital. Years later, they reencounter each other in very different circumstances.
Allison and her boyfriend Adam had been together for three years when she found out she was pregnant. The couple was ecstatic, embracing the fact that they were about to be a family of three.
Adam was highly supportive of Allison throughout her pregnancy. He would go with her to her doctor's visits and even stood by her when she had her ultrasounds.
One day, while they were having their routine checkup, the doctor explained that the baby was okay. "He's big and strong! Your baby is very healthy," he told them.
At that, Adam couldn't help but feel overjoyed. "That young man is going to be my heir! I can't wait to take him on exciting adventures. He's going to be my mini-me," he said.
Allison was glad that her husband shared the same excitement she had when it came to their baby. They both prepared the nursery room together, picking out the furniture and clothes that the baby needed.
At 28 weeks, Allison had a baby shower with some of her closest friends. While they enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea party, exchanging stories and gifts, she suddenly started feeling contractions.
"Ouch!" she suddenly said, clutching her stomach. She felt sharp shooting pains in her belly.
"What happened? Are you alright?" her friends said, rushing to her side.
"I'm having horrible contractions. I think I need to rush to the hospital. Can you guys take me?" Allison struggled to say. She was in immense pain, and the contractions were getting more frequent.
"Of course. I'll also call Adam to head to the hospital," her friend Maya said as she guided Allison as she stood up from her chair.

The doctor confirmed that she was in labor when they got to the hospital. Not long after Adam arrived, she started to give birth. On her first try, everyone, including her doctor, was surprised that the baby that came out was a girl.
"It's a girl!" the doctor exclaimed.
"What? How is that possible? We've been seeing a boy in the ultrasound," Adam asked, still clutching on to Allison, who was still in pain.
"Hold on; I see another head! We're not done here," the doctor said, guiding Allison to push some more.
"It's a boy. There he is," the doctor said, showing Allison and Adam that she had now given birth to two healthy babies.

Before Allison could say anything, she let out another scream. Another baby was coming out, and quickly, too.
Adam was stunned. He was expecting to welcome his heir, his baby boy, into their family. Now, he had three children he needed to take care of.
At that moment, Allison was wheeled over to the recovery room while the three children were placed in the neonatal intensive care unit. As they were born at 28 weeks, the triplets needed to stay there for a couple of days before they could head home.
Meanwhile, Adam was left alone with his thoughts. He visited Allison's doctor, questioning her about what had happened. "How could that be? How did we not find out in advance that she had three babies inside her?" he asked.
"Well, the ultrasound sometimes can't see everything at once, especially if the fetus is too small. They can also hide behind the other, making it difficult to see. You and Allison are lucky. This happens in one in a million pregnancies!" she explained.

Instead of being pleased, Adam was disappointed. He was not excited about having to raise three kids all at the same time.
While Allison and the children were at the hospital, he stayed home. "Call me when you're all ready to head home," he told Allison before leaving.
It took another five days before Allison and the kids, whom she named Andy, Amara, and Ashton could go home. When it was finally time, Allison expected Adam to be happy.
However, their drive home was both silent and uncomfortable. "Is everything okay?" Allison asked her husband. He shrugged his shoulders and grunted.

As soon as they got home, the man asked if the kids needed anything. Allison smiled, thinking he was finally getting the hang of the triplets. "The kids ran out of diapers at the hospital. Could you go and buy some?" she asked.
Adam nodded. "Sure. I'll be back soon," he said before walking out of the house. While waiting, Allison excitedly cared for the three kids. She was in a separate room at the hospital, so this was the first time she could care for them on her own.
"Hello there, sweetie pies," she said as she laid each of them down on the crib. "Daddy went to go buy you more diapers, so just hang in there, alright? It's not time to poop just yet," she said, talking to her kids.
After successfully putting the kids to sleep, Allison decided to prepare dinner. She wasn't sure how long the kids would be sleeping, so she chose to prepare a quick mac and cheese recipe for when Adam arrived.

However, hours passed, and he still wasn't home. The triplets were crying all at once, and she couldn't carry all of them at the same time.
Allison tried calling Adam's phone, but it went straight to voicemail. "Hey, where are you? Is everything alright? I'm getting worried. Call me back," she said, leaving a message.
After another hour, Allison tried to call him again. This time, his phone was turned off.
She proceeded to call 911, hoping to get answers. "I just wanted to know if this number is active? My husband hasn't gone home and I'm afraid he got into an accident," she said.
After the dispatcher got Adam's number, they were able to trace it. "I'm sorry, ma'am, but the line is active. He did not get into an accident, and your husband is currently driving on the interstate freeway."
Allison started to cry. "Why?" she sobbed, with her children echoing her cries in the background. "What did I do to deserve this?"
She was left alone with three newborn triplets without any help. She was overwhelmed, distraught, and afraid. She proceeded to call her mom, and she let all her emotions out.

"Mom," she cried. "Adam left me all alone with the triplets. He won't return my calls, and he's been gone for hours. I don't know what to do. All the kids are crying, and I haven't started producing enough milk for all of them. How will I survive?" she said, panicking.
"Sweetheart. Calm yourself down, alright? Drink a glass of water and take some time before carrying the kids. Your sister and I will be right there. Don't cry anymore. Give us thirty minutes," her mom, Annie, replied.
Quickly, her mom put down the phone and got to work. She called Allison's sister Ashley, and they packed their bags before driving to Allison's house.
When they arrived, Allison was in the process of feeding two of her children, with one fast asleep. As she saw her mom and sister, she began crying again.

"What would I do without you two?" she asked. "I can't believe he left me. Just like that! No explanation, no heads up. He just disappeared," Allison cried.
"He is not worth your time or tears, sweetheart. You have three beautiful children to care for. You don't have to do it alone. You have us, alright? Forget that poor excuse of a man," her mother replied, kissing Allison in the forehead.
Before finally letting go of Adam, Allison decided to visit his parents to see whether or not they'd heard from him. Instead of sympathies, Adam's mom greeted her with stern coldness.
"Hi, mom," she greeted him like she always had in the past. "Have you heard from Adam? He hasn't come home in two days," Allison explained.

Maria, Adam's mom, crossed her arms and leaned on the door. "No, I haven't seen my son, and even when I find out where he is, I'm not telling you where he's at."
"What happened, mom? We were all okay during my pregnancy. You were all so excited. What changed?" Allison asked, feeling down yet again.
"You and my son got married too young. I was against it at first, but Adam was so persistent that I couldn't do anything about it. Now, you're shoving the responsibility of taking care of THREE children on his plate. That poor boy is going to break his back working to feed all of you," she said.
Allison was shocked and hurt that she couldn't help but answer back. "The purpose of getting married is to start a family. Adam knew what he was getting into, and he was so excited to be a father. Raising three children is no joke, but he wouldn't have to raise them alone. I work, too. We do everything as a team," she explained.

"That's what they all say, but come on, let's be real. The chunk of the financial responsibility falls on the father. My son is too young to support three children all at once. What happens when they all start going to school? It's going to be a nightmare for him. Word of advice, just put the kids up for adoption," Maria said, her arms still crossed on her chest.
"I can't believe you're saying this about your own kin. It's clear that your family wants nothing to do with my children. So now, I'm making it clear, too – you must know that your son is no father, and you have no grandchildren," Allison said before storming away.
Allison cried as she walked back to her car. However, after one last cry, as she sat on the driver's seat, she told herself it'd be the last time. She had no time to sulk, as she had to raise three beautiful children now.
She looked at each of them sitting peacefully in their car seats and said: "We can do it without him. Don't you worry, sweethearts. Mommy's got you."

True enough, Allison raised her three children with the help of her mom and her sister, who lived nearby. They would help Allison carry the load by cooking, babysitting the kids, and helping with other household chores.
Thanks to their help, Allison built a career for herself. As she was a graduate of Law, she worked hard to pass the board exams that she put on hold after getting married.
Finally, Allison became an attorney. She worked at a top law firm and handled her own team of associates. By that time, her three children were already in grade school, studying just a block away from where she worked.
One day, a man came in for an interview to become an associate under her team. As she looked up from her desk, she was surprised to see that it was Adam.

"Allison, what a surprise!" he said, stunned. "What are you doing here?" he asked her.
"Well, it seems I lead the team you're trying to apply for. Is that shocking to you?" she asked.
"I just... I can't believe you were able to achieve so much through the years. How long has it been?" Adam said, still looking shocked that he was staring right at his ex-wife.
"It's been eight years. And yes, it was quite a ride raising three children while studying for the bar. However, I'm not here to catch up with you," Allison said, continuing to work on paperwork as Adam sat in front of her.
"Wow. I've been trying to get a job at your firm for a while now. Since you mentioned you're not here to catch up, we should have dinner and discuss things," Adam suggested.
Allison could see right through him. She knew that he wanted to use her to get to the company. She shook her head. "There's no need for that. Look. Your resume is flawless, but I can't hire you," she started.

"What?! Why? You're being salty after all these years?" Adam said, slowly showing his true colors.
Allison sighed. "You haven't changed one bit. I can't hire you because we look at character more than credentials in this law firm. I don't need an irresponsible person on my team," Allison clarified.
"How are you so sure I'm still irresponsible? Maybe I've changed," he hinted.
"You had eight years to check on your kids. Did you? I sent you divorce papers, but you refused to sign. I had to file an abandonment case to get that divorce finalized. How is that a changed man?" Allison shot back. "Please, let's not waste each other's time. I think it's better you leave now," she said.
Allison and Adam both learned their own lessons the hard way. However, Allison realized that God makes no mistakes in life. He doesn't take someone out of your life for no reason. He removes people from your life because he knows you deserve better.
