Kaneki is the main protagonist of “Tokyo Ghoul”, a Japanese dark fantasy manga series. Although he was a normal college student at the beginning of Tokyo Ghoul, Kaneki went through a drastic transformation when he turned into a Ghoul.

The word Ghoul is translated approximately to eater species. It is a carnivorous and cannibalistic humanoid species that is only able to feed on the flesh of humans and other ghouls.
