The Dark Side of a Libra Female: The People Pleaser With No Direction

If you've ever gone on a date with a woman and they take unbelievable time to choose what they want to eat, you may be dealing with a Libra woman who is not entirely within her power. Combine that with a night of her talking all about herself, and you can be sure that the scales are completely imbalanced.

Libra (September 23 – October 22) women are unique individuals, ready for a great conversation that embraces everyone. They are friendly, honest, charming, and intelligent. When you speak, the Libran woman genuinely listens instead of going through the usual conversational motions.

However, we all have weaknesses, and the Libra woman is no different. Her tendency to people please, become self-indulgent, and never make a solid decision can leave her in a hostile and shallow space without any clue about where she is going in life.

People Pleasing

Libras are addicted to harmony, which can be established healthily. But, instead of taking this healthy route, the Libra woman can become a people pleaser to maintain peace. They will find it difficult to say no and will allow people to walk all over them.

This, however, is false harmony. Everyone in a group, whether family, friends, or workplace, needs to be content if all is to work accordingly. Therefore, Libra needs to work on themselves to achieve this, and they need to learn to put down boundaries. They will be surprised that if they do this, they can lead a more harmonious existence, as hiding away from issues is just a band-aid to the real problems that must be sorted and balanced out.

This star sign's need for harmony can lead to more issues, such as meddling in other's business, especially if there is a confrontation of some sort. Again, the Libra woman needs to learn boundaries, not just erected for themselves, but also those built to respect others. They must understand that while their need for a harmonious existence is a beautiful ideal, trying to control situations and people will not get them anywhere.

Instead, they should appeal to their astute social skills and diplomacy to subtly move the ship forward.

Superficial, Shallow and Self-Indulgent

Libra loves beauty and the finer things in life. This can lead them to become obsessed with their looks and spend too much time looking in the mirror and not looking within. While there is nothing wrong with taking care of oneself, they may venture into vanity territory.

This approach to life can also mean that the Libra indulges in riches, food, beautiful clothes, and fine furniture. Once again, there is nothing wrong with wanting to eat delicious food or buy oneself a beautiful dress. Still, if this becomes the center of one's universe, they begin to lack depth or compassion for those around them who can't access these resources.

They can also take any conflict or difficult situation and make it about them, no matter who is affected or at fault.

Extreme Indecisiveness

Libras struggle to make final decisions, from what to eat to career choices. They are so concerned with harmony and balance that big or small decisions will leave them feeling overwhelmed. This is especially true in our current society, where we have numerous choices at our fingertips.

While the difficulty with choosing what food to eat may be significantly annoying for those around them, it is relatively harmless. Instead, when it comes to life choices, they may slow everything and end up not getting anything done, leaving their life in disarray — the opposite of harmony.

They may drop out of university halfway through their degree, change their career path every five seconds, and struggle to decide whether to stay with their romantic partner.

This is where the commitment issues come in as well. Libra woman idealizes romance in their head, so they tend to jump in quickly. Sadly for the unsuspecting partner, they will agonize over whether they should stay or leave once they realize that the relationship is not a storybook romance. This could lead to constant push and pull, hurting both individuals.

The Myth of the Libran Gossip

There is a widely held and pervasive viewpoint that Libras tend to gossip. This is untrue. Widely respected astrologer Linda Goodman puts this rumor to bed, stating:

There is no need to be afraid of confiding in your Libran friend, partner, or family member. While they may have some negative attributes, this is not one of them.

While Libra's can be people pleasers, they can also be strong, boundary-heavy diplomats if they work on themselves. While they can be self-indulgent, their genuine care for the people around them can help them balance out this tendency, and after all, isn't balance what they want?

Overall, these negative attributes exist in every Libran woman, although there is always potential for them to grow if they care for themselves and live within their integrity.
