Poor Woman Gets Emotional as She Sees Blind Boy Who Is a Carbon Copy of Her Son — Story of the Day

Elizabeth walked through a busy street in San Francisco one night, after realizing she forgot to order food for dinner. While walking, she saw a blind young boy begging for alms. When she approached him to give some change, she was startled to see the similarities between the boy and her own son.

Elizabeth, born in the early 1990s, lived most of her life alone. Her parents died in a plane crash when she was only five years old, and she went to live with her grandparents. Unfortunately, when she was a teenager, her grandparents died, and she was left alone.

Since she was 16, she's had to fend for herself. Elizabeth started a new life in San Francisco, where she worked as a grocery cashier during the day and a waitress at night. One day, she met a man named George at the restaurant she worked in. He was the musician that night.

George's voice had Elizabeth swooning. The two of them exchanged glances, and George was instantly attracted to Elizabeth's big brown eyes and beaming smile that showed off her dimples.

They started dating and after a couple of months, they moved in together. They continued to work at the same restaurant, and for a while, they were hopeful that George would make it big in Hollywood. Unfortunately, his time never came.

George's career didn't take off, and Elizabeth was pregnant with their first child. They struggled financially, but George promised to take care of his growing family.

Elizabeth's baby bump was getting bigger, but she continued to work as they needed the money. At this point, George started to feel the pressure of becoming a father and would lash out at Elizabeth about simple things.

One day, Elizabeth was tasked to take charge of opening the restaurant. The manager, Katrina, had gone to the bank that day. When she got back, she was alarmed to see that the restaurant was still closed at 11:00 AM. "Have we been closed the past hour?" she said, peeking through the window.

When Katrina opened the door, the phone voicemail was buzzing with messages. Their staff wondered why the restaurant was closed for the day without any notice. She called for Elizabeth, but she didn't answer.

She got to the kitchen and saw Elizabeth lying down on the floor in a pool of blood. "Oh my god, Elizabeth!" she said, rushing to check her pulse. She called 911, and after a couple of minutes, they arrived at the scene.

A couple of hours later, Elizabeth woke up in the hospital. Panicking, she asked about her child as she noticed her baby bump had deflated. A nurse assured her that her child was okay and that he was in the hospital NICU.

"When am I allowed to see my child?" she asked the nurse. She was in pain, and she was advised not to stand just yet. It turns out, she had an emergency C-section.

"Well, where's George? Does he know I gave birth? Has he seen his son?" Elizabeth asked. She had many questions, and she was trying to grasp what had just happened. It was then that her friend Liza interrupted. Elizabeth had not noticed she was in the room until she spoke.

"Sweetie, George isn't coming," she said, with a pained look on her face.

"Why not? Is he alright?" Elizabeth asked.

"Well...your boss called him right after she found you unconscious at the restaurant... He told her that he didn't want to see you anymore... and that he was moving to New York to try and make it big... He said he found a girl that could help make this happen. I'm so sorry, Elizabeth," Liza said.

Elizabeth, who was still shaking from being on painkillers, started to hyperventilate. "That's not true," she said.

When she realized her friend wasn't lying, Elizabeth sobbed. She was all alone again, and she wasn't confident she could raise the child alone. "My child is just going to suffer if he stays with me," she said, blaming herself for all the misfortunes that have happened in her life.

"That's not true. You'll make a great mom. I'm here for you, too," Liza said, consoling her friend. Elizabeth shook her head, and she cried about her broken heart for days.

Over time, Elizabeth started to do much better, and she focused on raising her son. Years later, however, a secret would rock her world.

As she was on her way home after dropping off her son Seth at school, she was drawn towards a boy who was begging on the street. He was wearing a pair of tinted glasses and was frail. Elizabeth approached him and decided to invite him for lunch.

"I would love to! Can you please pass my cane?" the young boy asked. It was then that Elizabeth realized that the child was blind. She handed the cane to him, and they started walking towards a nearby fast-food restaurant.

"What's your name, sweet child?"

"My name is Lucas. That's what they call me at the orphanage. They always lack food there, so I end up on the streets hoping someone kind gives me enough money for a meal at the fast-food restaurant. I guess today's my lucky day," he said, smiling at Elizabeth.

When he looked at her, she noticed that he looked so much like her son Seth. "How could this be?" she said, surprised.

"How could what be?" the boy asked innocently. Elizabeth decided to ask him when his birthday was.

"My birthday is on October 25. Will you send me a gift that day?" the boy said, beaming.

What is happening? Elizabeth thought to herself. Not only did the boy look like Seth, but they shared the same birthday, too.

In the next couple of days, Elizabeth spent hours trying to track the boy's history. She took a DNA test between her and Lucas, and it came out negative.

Unconvinced, she took another DNA test, this time to match Lucas and Seth's DNA, and the results were positive. "How could this be?!" she said again, then filing an investigation against the hospital.

When it was discovered that the hospital was part of a scheme, George showed up in the courtroom. There, he testified about the situation.

George revealed that he was actually at the hospital that day. When he found out that their son died in Elizabeth's womb, he took it as his chance to leave. However, he did not want to leave Elizabeth with nothing.
