Michael was extremely wealthy, but he didn't feel right about leaving his inheritance to his grandchildren, who often bickered about it. But one day, he was hospitalized and heard a heartbreaking story, leading to a shocking decision that his family never expected.
"Yes, it's just the saddest thing in the world," Michael heard a nurse saying to another at the clinic's reception desk.
He had been hospitalized in New York for a mild case of angina and was finally getting out. But he wasn't happy about it at all. No one in his family had visited, and that was fine by him because he knew they would only bicker over the considerable inheritance they would get if he died.
Luckily, he recovered as quickly as an 83-year-old man could and was getting discharged, but he stopped after hearing the nurses gossiping about something.
He made them an offer that changed their lives completely.
"So what happened?" the other nurse asked.
"Well, the woman gave birth to three children. It was horrible. There was blood everywhere and for a while the doctors thought she might die. But she made it, and the kids are perfectly healthy. Everyone thought it was a happy-ending story until the mother walked out of here like nothing happened. She wanted to be discharged as soon as possible," the original nurse revealed.

"Yes, and even Dr. Mills, who normally keeps the most neutral poker face in the world, was shocked. She couldn't believe it. None of us could. After all that, and she just leaves? Well, now the triplets are probably going to the system because the father is nowhere to be found, of course. It's so heartbreaking," the nurse finished her story, and they moved on to another subject soon.
But Michael couldn't stop thinking about the triplets. They were just born, and suddenly their entire lives were set to be insanely complicated. He wondered if he could see them and help them out in any way. Therefore, he snuck into the maternity area and looked at the babies with tenderness.
The triplets were discernable right away, and he smiled at them, all innocent, not knowing that their mother had abandoned them. The nurse was right. This was heartbreaking because it made Michael look back on his life.

He married Tara many years ago in his 20s, and they had kids right away. He still remembered their births. They were the most beautiful moments of his life. But they had grown up insanely greedy and selfish due to Michael and Tara's considerable wealth. They wanted their kids to have everything and did not notice when they became money-grabbing people.
Unfortunately, they passed that greediness onto their children, and he knew that all of them would fight tooth and nail for every last bit he had accumulated over the years. He could picture his granddaughters fighting over Tara's expensive jewelry, and the boys quarreling over their property. It was like a nightmare.
He knew he and Tara were to blame for some of it, but he never expected it to be this bad. And here were three kids who had nothing in the world, and who knew if they would have families at all? What an awful world!
But Michael could change that. He could teach his family a lesson and change the course of these kids' lives.

He spoke to Dr. Mills, the doctor who delivered them, asking her about their case and what would happen. They connected him to a social worker, Linda, and Michael decided to sponsor them.
They were sent to an orphanage at first, and he paid for everything regarding their care. But luckily enough, a wonderful couple, Mary and Adam, decided to foster them.
They didn't know about Michael at first, but he showed up at their door after fostering the triplets for three months. He made them an offer that would change their lives completely. He would give them everything he owned, including property, money, and more.
"Sir, you don't have to do this. We are completely capable of raising them. I have a good job, and Mary is a great homemaker," Adam said when he heard Michael's proposal.

"I know. But I was touched by their story when they were born, and I want to give them everything I have because my own family doesn't appreciate all the privilege they had. Of course, I can give you the money directly if that makes it easier," Michael indicated, but Mary and Adam shook their heads.
"No, sir. If you really want to do this, how about setting up something like a trust fund for them, and they can gain access to it when they turn 18? I don't know how that works, but it's the kids' money. We're still their foster parents, and who knows what could happen? Maybe their birth mother will change her mind," Mary interjected.
Michael knew right then he was making the right choice. These people were humble and didn't want anything but to raise those babies. He agreed and decided to make arrangements to secure his money for the triplets with his lawyer.

Under his attorney's advice, he gave his children and grandchildren a token amount of money, so they could never contest the will. Then the rest he placed in trust funds and arranged so that the triplets would get their money when they turned 18. But he used his influence so that Adam and Mary would receive something too and make it easier for them to raise the babies.
Michael died when the triplets were 6 six years old, and his family kicked up an uproar when the lawyers explained his will. They threatened to sue, but they couldn't. They threatened to harass the triplets' new family, but they couldn't or would face the law.
Michael passed away not knowing if his family would learn from this lesson. But at least, those triplets were settled for life.
