Due to his condition, Lupin suffered greatly from not only the bias against him by the wizarding world.
He was also hesitant to marry his lover Nymphadora Tonks as he was haunted by the possibility of giving their possible future child his disease. However, they eventually wed and had a child, Teddy Tonks.
Tragically, he and his wife died in the Battle of Hogwarts, having named Harry Potter the godfather before they passed away.
