Kevin O'Leary was born in July 1954 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He holds two degrees, a Bachelor's in Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from Western University.

One of the first companies he founded was the TV production agency Special Event Television, which aired sports programs. He branched off to software in 1983, co-founding SoftKey Software Products, Inc., which produced digital educational material.

Today, he is not only an entrepreneur and investor, but O'Leary is also a TV personality, best known as a panelist on "Dragon's Den" and "Shark Tank." When it comes to how he reached success and maintained it, O'Leary has been quite frank about his business philosophies.
