While most Leo women are exceptionally kind, generous, and warm, they have dark sides. For those rare ones that take these negative attributes to the extreme, it can be incredibly destructive for them, their loved ones, and their co-workers.

At the core, her ego causes a Leo (July 23 - August 22) woman to slip into her dark side. Nearly every issue she may have is usually, if not always, rooted in her pride.

In this state, the Leo woman can lose self-awareness completely. In some scarce situations, her narcissism can blow up to concerning proportions, where she ends up using her natural social skills to manipulate those around her.

Pure Vanity

While the Leo woman is usually warm and has depth, she will put all her effort into shallow pursuits if her pride takes over. While there is nothing wrong with looking after oneself, the Leo woman can take it so far. This can even elevate to the point where her charisma won't even be able to cover up the fact that she has little to offer beyond the surface.

This vanity can annoy those around her as she constantly looks in the mirror, speaks about her weight, and can not go out without taking a million selfies.

An Unhinged Temper

If you cross a toxic Leo, even if you call them out on something legitimate, you awaken a deadly anger. Either this woman will lash out and, with her keen perception of people, tear you down limb by limb with unimaginable and unforgivable words.

If not, and this is more concerning, the Leo woman will begin a silent campaign, slowly but surely seeking revenge on you with her manipulation skills. When you realize what has happened, it may be too late.

Arrogant, Condescending and Dominating

Sometimes Leo women think they know best, whether that's in their personal or professional lives. This may lead to patronizing and dominating behavior as they always need to give their two cents or take over.

They usually find themselves in positions of power, socially and at work. Socially, they may make assumptions about their friends' or families' lives, look down upon them, and offer unsolicited advice. As absorbed as she is in her ego, the Leo woman may even think she is helping people when she shoves her opinions about them down their throats.

Even if not in a top position, she may take over, micromanage, and have temper issues if everything goes differently. Her co-workers may find that they are constantly walking on eggshells with her.

In some situations, people will feel second-hand embarrassment as Leo takes a leadership role or becomes highly opinionated while in the presence of a superior.

Sadly, if she slips even deeper into her dark side, she may even enjoy the misfortune of others and will make jokes at others' expense to stroke her ego.

Beyond work and relationships, this kind of Leo woman will be highly opinionated about every issue under the sun, never budging and always convinced that she is right. The idea that she may be wrong may even send her into a temper tantrum, closing her mind to new perspectives. This will apply to issues she has never researched or barely knows about.

Jealous and Possessive

Leo has a jealous and possessive streak in romantic relationships and even with family or friends, which can end up pushing people away. She may manipulate or use her anger to try to prevent her partner from talking to other individuals. She may be wary of her best friend getting closer to other individuals for fear of her being replaced. She may even incite sibling rivalry to ensure she is the golden child and gets more praise from her brother/s or sister/s.

Simultaneously, she is hypocritical in this regard. As she loves attention, she will flirt with other individuals, although innocently, without blinking an eye at the effect it may have on her partner or the hypocrisy she is employing.

Spotlight Hoarder

It's easy for the Leo woman to be the center of attention. With her charisma and charm, she is used to it. However, one can't always walk in the light, and if someone comes along to take the spotlight, it may infuriate the Leo woman.

Sadly, if the Leo woman has become extremely toxic, she may even fight for the spotlight with her children She may find it difficult to deal with the fact that individuals may be more focused on how cute her baby is instead of focusing on her.

While these attributes can occur in Leo women that have become toxic, it is scarce. At most, a Leo may lose her temper now and then or share her opinions at a party with overconfidence. But we all have our weaknesses, and this Lioness barely falls deep into the darkness.

Most Leos are generous, kind, and compassionate people with remarkable leadership abilities that make everyone comfortable.
